Who's to say those people are wrong? You said so yourself there's many variations, and my friends and I don't play your version or anything like it. The way my friends and I play (college kids at the greatest school ever = PURDUE) you take 12 cups and organinze them into a pyramid on each side of a table (24 cups in all) two players (a team) stand on each side of the table and throw their ping pong balls across the table. The object is to make your ping pong ball into the other team's cup, if you succeed they have to drink the cup. The cups can be filled with all kinds of alcohol but it's usually filled 1/4 of the way with beer. The team that drinks all their cups first loses.
