Has anyone tried Chartreuse, the French herbal liquor?
Is it expensive and is it a pleasant drink?

There is Yellow Chartreuse and Green Chartreuse. The yellow is milder and sweeter, but I have found the green to be easier to find in stores. I don't know what constitutes expensive to you, but the larger bottle is approximately $45 in a liquor store in the US (can vary, of course, depending on the state).
I use it in cocktails occasionally (the Tailspin, for example).
