Can dry ice be harmful?!

Question:

Can dry ice be harmful?

Answers:
Considering that it's -80 degrees Celcius (or -109 degrees Fahrenheit) and can freeze your flesh immediately then I'd say yes, it can be harmful.

Take care when handling it. Use insulated gloves if you need to use your hands and do not touch it directly even for a moment.

Beyond that it's perfectly safe if you're using it to keep frozen food frozen.

If you hold it It will damage your skin.

and lets say explosive.

you cant handle dry ice with your hands, it will freeze your skin on contact and "burn" you. So yes, it can be.

yes it can be really harmful it can make your skin peel really bad and it could sting

YEA it is like 3-400 degrees below freezing And not only stick to you but burn your badly
It is CO2 and can choke you

NOUN:
Solid carbon dioxide that sublimates at -78.5°C (-110°F) and is used primarily as a coolant.

very dangerous to the skin. it can give off terrible freezer burns as a result too.

yeah if u hold it for to long like more than a couple secounds in one spot

only if you touch it with bare skin. it will burn you

In a word, yes. Dry ice can be harmful, but if you handle it correctly, you should have no problems.

First of all, use caution when handling it. It's cold enough to flash-freeze your skin, so wear heavy gloves, or use a pair of tongs to move the ice around. Second, if the dry ice is exposed to moisture, it can decompress very rapidly. If it's inside a closed container, it can literally explode the container.

Finally, if you're traveling with dry ice in your car, leave the cooler in the car trunk. As the CO2 sublimates, in can quickly fill up your car's passenger compartment. This could lead to unconsciousness or dizziness, and an accident could result.

sure it can because when held on aspot 4 long it tends to freeze the blood vessel and cause numbness in the spot

dry ice is an excellent choice of keeping your beer icy chilled pretty quick. but dont touch it with your bare hands, it burns.
