Wine advice...?!

Question:

Wine advice...?

I've had wine at parties and such and enjoyed it but I don't know a lot about it. I'm heading to the liquor store in a bit and I was wondering of anyone could recommend a good type of wine and brand. Nothing too pricey but I don't want it to come in a box! Generally I like white wine (although I'm not picky) and something sweeter that's not too dry. Thanks :)

Answers:

Johannesburg Reisling is a very sweet white and there are dozens of California winerys that bottle it. Robert Mondavi can be as high at 20.00 and some can run you around 8.00. Any reisling (or desert wine, I like to call it). Is usually your best bet. I would stay completey away from the Zinfandels and blush wines. To me, a good wind has a real cork, it comes from Napa Valley, and it costs more than 8.00 a bottle. The price usually tells you whats good and what isnt. There are tons of other things to look at, like the bottle design, the bubble count at the bottom, age and reputation. All of that stuff is fun to learn as you go.
