Question:

Can you die from being an alcoholic and then stop drinking and die from it?

My sister and her boyfriend said they could. I don't believe it personally. If it is possible then a post a resource so I can see it for myself.

Answers:
how can you die twice?

i dont really know

if severe alcoholic, yes

no, alcohol does not cause withdrawal symptoms

Yes that is possible, because alchohal damages your body. It is a leading cause of liver failure.

yes you can die from being an Alchoholic. my grandmother did,and so will my father most likely.

Yep, someone who is accustomed to drinking everyday for so long could possibly die if they were to suddenly stop cold turkey. I watch this on medical examiner.

Yes. If you're so wasted you may think that you have already dies but in truth you're still alive. Then you can stop drinking and die from it once more.

I think that's as clear an answer as you will get.

I believe it is true if you been an alcoholic for years, you need special medicines and treatment to get rid of the alcohol in your body.

whoa - i read your question like six times - what?!

if you stop u may still die.....ur kidneys or liver could shut down or be in the prosess of shutting down....this process will start while u drink and can contune after u stop

my first husband was an alcoholic, stopped drinking for awhile, his liver bounced back, started drinking again, then finally stopped but the damage had already been done. he died not too long after that, im sorry to say.

I don't see how you can die twice, but anyways. Even if you quit drinking, the damage you put on your body while you were an alcoholic, specifically your liver, is still present. It can still kill you later in life. Same thing happens with smokers.

yeah, only if you have ceroisis of the liver, the withdraws could kill you but they last only a couple of weeks. just depends on how bad they are.

yes it can...my brother in law is an alcoholic and he is dying from it.
He just had pollips removed from his lower intestines from alcohol...Docs told him to quit drinking he wouldnt so now he has devolped crones disease from it.

Yes & yes.
