WIlliams Selyem - best vineyards?!

Question:

WIlliams Selyem - best vineyards?

I got a much larger allocation this time and could use some suggestions about which ones I should keep and which I'll buy but auction off later. HELP!

Thanks! My comment re: Auction was not about making a profit, but more about the fact that I don't want all of my allocation, but I feel obligated to buy all of it to retain my stature on the mailing list.

Answers:

Williams Selyem makes so many it is difficult to tell. I use two sources to help me:
www.cellartracker.com with the premium cellar valuation service.

Also www.winecommune.com is good.

I looked at my current holdings of the 2005 vintage Pinots. I also note Auction value/Cost with the info I have

Central Coast 32.06/31
Russian River Valley 42.97/42
Sonoma Coast 40.06/39
Sonoma County 35/34
Westside Road Neighbors 86.25/65

Looks like Westside Road Neighbors is appreciating well.

Looking back at 2004
Weir 74.75/54
Ferrington 40.24/59
Allen 113.08/75

All the other designates were pretty much at parity.

In general, there are a few that will get some appreciatin at auction, although the margins can be slim depending on the service you use. I think WS is to buy hold and enjoy.

My cellar is visible on cellartracker.com, look for user odu83
