A deep Burgundy

Definitely a red. I think a good Cabernet would go well with it. I don't eat beef anymore though. But the flavors should pair nicely. For a good, cheap Cab, try Trove. It comes in a box that equals about $5 per bottle. It does not have a heavy tannin flavor and is very mild. Dancing Bull is another relatively inexpensive wine that would go well that can be found just about anywhere.

Merlot or a Cabernet Sauvingnon.

While a Burgundy would be traditional, I prefer a Cabernet Savingnon. It is not as thick and rich as a burgundy, nor as fruity and I believe it holds up better to the flavor of the beef without competing with it.

I have been really enjoying the Austraillian wines and I think a Shiraz would be great for this. Something new and also a conversation starter. And it goes great with Beef!

Pinot Noir

I'd go with a Cabernet Savingnon too.

A well-aged French or Italian red. Don't let excessive fruit or alcohol interfere with that juicy tenderloin!

Go for a 2002 red Burgundy or a 1998 Chateauneuf de Pape.

A hearty Burgundy or Cabernet.
