How can people actually enjoy the taste of beer?!

Question:

How can people actually enjoy the taste of beer?

I understand they enjoy the feeling due to the effects of the alcohol but how can you look forward to the taste?

Answers:
There are good tasting beers out there. It's all a matter of willing to spend a little money on them.

I guess it is not for everyone, but I like the taste.

Well, I think it can definitely be considered an "acquired taste." I for one cannot stand "light" beers. I much prefer the more complicated and bitter tastes of dark beers, such as Guinness.

It's like coffee, in a way; some people love the taste, some people hate it and won't drink it, and some people don't like it but drink it for the caffeine.

Its an acquired taste. Over years of trying different ones, I sometimes find I would like a nice cold one. (Corona w/ lime!mmmmm!)
Its not for everyone, find something else you like. As you grow older you may find your taste changes and you may like it then.

for some people it depends on the beer, i heard budwiser is the best b/c it doesnt have much of a taste.

Beer is an acquired taste, either you like it or you don't. To me there is nothing as refreshing than an ice cold beer, especially when I am camping on a hot day.

I've never been a fan but many of my friends do and they drink it because they enjoy the taste, not for a buzz (there are quicker ways to get buzzed if that is the only desire).

It's a preference like just about anything else...some like it, some don't. I prefer mixed drinks like margaritas, bushwackers, white russians, etc. Never have cared for beer or wine.

There are many micro-brew flavors.

Chocolate rasberry, Ginger, Honey-lots of different stuff-have a beer tasting party!

/!\

my friend tried it and said it tasted good so maybe people just have different taste buds

Probably depends on family history. I come from a family of beer drinkers, hence I like beer in all of it's forms. The key is to only have 1 or 2, not 8 or 9.

To each is own, I suppose - it all depends upon perosnal tastes, and what you pair it with (Beer + Hot Wings = Instant Game Night).

it has to be a aquired taste. my husband loves it,but i feel like why drink something that looks the same going in as it does going out.

The bitterness, as well as much of the flavor and aroma of "beer" are due to the "hops", which are actually flowers (yes, flowers!) added at different stages of the brewing process.

Hops were added as a beer preservative, in the days before refrigeration -- but obviously a lot of people like the taste, if beers still use hops, right? (In general, the ability to "enjoy" bitter flavors seems to increase as a person ages.)

Of course, some beer brands use bad brewing procedures and bad ingredients, so they really taste awful (and any beer will taste skunky if the bottles have been stored in hot temperatures). These beers are consumed by people who DO want a cheap "buzz".

Shiner.
That's some good beer there. Smooth, great flavor. ahhhhh.
Brewed in Shiner, TX.

Ohhhhh, man, how can u not enjoy the taste of beer?!?! It's so good, specially on a hot afternoon after work..... mmmmm heaven! My favourite is Victoria Bitter, batch-brewed in Melbourne, Australia. It's a full strength beer and it's also a lager.... wonderful stuff!
