Answers:
My favorite red is Zinfandel, and my favorite white is German Riesling. I haven't found a domestic Riesling I enjoy as much. The New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are very good, too.

I like Gewurtztraminer, but I haven't found a good one that's readily available. Most of them are too sweet (except for drinking with very spicy Asian food) and not interesting enough to drink by themselves, except on a hot day when you just want to loaf and not think. I should probably be more aggresive about finding some, but good German wines are hard to get here.

I like a lot of fruit in my wines, but I like them to work well with food, too. I don't like a lot of tannin in my reds, and there's a flavor in many whites--especially California Chardonnays--that tastes off and sort of sour to me. My husband says he knows what it is, but he hasn't told me.

Sorry I can't explain it better; I'm not really a wine maven.

Red Berenson wine is best made from the Sidney Solomon vinyards with special grapes grown on Glenn Hall's ranch in Manitoba and delivered by Mike Liut, Fran Huck, Bob and Barclay Plager, Al Arbour and Carl Brewer. I prefer the ones drunk out of the Stanley Cup.

Merlot.

I am not a white type any more.

I haven't found a zin that is both light and affordable (and some are absolutel leaden).

Cabernet isn't bad but lacks a zip for me.

Pinor Noir is too finicky

Shiraz gives me a ringing headache.

Burgundy is too common

New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs for me, particularly those from the Marlborough region. Dam they are good.
