to me and what i have noticed it is less of a gender issue and more of a geographic issue, I have been I all of the lower 48 states and have been bar hopping in all of them and I have noticed that mixing tomato juice with beer is common among both genders in the lower midwest ,Kansas ,Oklahoma, northern Texas, and a couple of surrounding states, I have seen it all over but it was most prevalent in the states I mentioned , I have never tried it ...sounds horrible .but maybe they are on to something.

delicious

It's actually really good, but I learned about it from a bunch of guy friends. In fact, I know more guys that do it then women. It's not a strictly female thing.

I for sure am not a woman but can tell you that tomato juice and beer go together just fine.

It's very good but I use Spicy V-8 juice and a splash of lemon.
Oh my gosh, great for hangovers too.

Yes, it's a good hangover preventer.

Yes it is true but both the beer and the tomato juice have to be really cold. I do it whenever I have a beer which is only in the summer. What is super good is if the tomato juice is homemade.

most definitely they do. I work in a bar and many girls drink what we call "red draws". More guys drink it, but there are plenty of girls that do too.

It has its' possibilities!

I was a bartender for many years. It is true, but men do this also, not just ladies. They say it cures a hangover. I've seen lots of people come into the bar early in the morning feeling horrible from the night before. They order a beer, cup of tomato juice and a frosted mug to mix it in. Most add tons of salt and some pepper to this concoction. A little while later they seem to be feeling better so I suppose it works for the hangover LOL.

I tried it before and I personally think it tastes horrible. To each his own I guess. Some people think it's delicious.

I've witnessed things alot stranger than the beer and tomato juice during my time behind the bar.

I use spicy v8 juice or tomato juice, whichever is on hand. I also add a little lemon and tabasco to the tomato juice and beer. Taste really good.

My wife loves her "tomato beer", and like one other answerer, said it so much better with homemade tomato juice. Personally, I like beer by itself and I like tomato juice by itself, but I don't care for them mixed.

It is good for hangovers and it doesn't taste too bad.

I've never ever heard of that. I agree it sounds nasty.

i learned about it from a woman, but only in the past year or so. it's actually delicious. oddly enough, labatt's blue mixes realllllly nice with tomato juice. or you can use bloody mary mix. yum!

I live in Texas and it's a common drink here. A light beer (usually Corona Light or Miller Light) with a small can of spicy V-8 juice and lime wedges is called a Michelada. It's actually pretty tasty - very refreshing!

Never heard of that. Sounds icky. Plus why would anyone want to dilute beer? Sounds like alcohol abuse to me.

The actual, original, Bloody Mary ....... Good with the fresh squeezed juice of a Lime, a dash of, Lea & Perrins, and sometimes a raw egg on the bottom of the glass if it is for Breakfast ....... Always good when followed by another just like the first ....... But, do NOT eat Cheetos when drinking Red Beer ....... We witnessed a fellow in Fiji who set new distance records for Projectile Emisis after copious amounts of that combination ....... a rather colorful coronation for some unwary Tourists, who will probably never leave Brooklyn again ....... or walk anywhere near an open window ....... and to think, that demonstration wasn't even in the Brochure .......
