Brewing beer - cutting the recipe in half?!

Question:

Brewing beer - cutting the recipe in half?

I just got done brewing my first beer - a brown ale. Instead of making 5 gallons, I made 3 gallons. Then, I put it in a bucket that was intended to hold 5 gallons. Should I expect to see any problems because of this?

Answers:
If your brew fermented (you will see some scummy stuff called kreusen on the sides of the fermenter), you will NOT make anything that will kill you. Brewing your own beer is a tremendously flexible and forgiving process as long as you sanitize everything carefully.

I will bet your beer will be just fine.

Assume your in the fermenting stage. Should be no problem as long as you have a good air lock on the fermentor.

Nothing like NOT following the instructions.
you may have wasted ?? 4 hours...
Get the right equipment ..!

You 'can' make a brew that might kill you..!
bad bugs are everywhere.

It is fine as long as it is air locked.
