Why do the bubbles in champagne make you get drunk more quickly?!

Question:

Why do the bubbles in champagne make you get drunk more quickly?

Answers:
they dont- your mind is just playing with you at that point- the bubbles are carbon dioxide- te same ones in soda

The bubbles, like the ones in soda, carry the alcohol into your blood stream more quickly.

drrunk more quickly is that english drunk quicker I dont know but at least the english is correct

The reference below states that it is true (in case anyone finds the wine industry propaganda that it's a myth) and that they don't know why. I have heard (no source) that the carbonation halts the entrance of stomach acid because the pH is higher and the stomach acid doesn't have the chance to break down some of the alcohol in your stomach. Because of this, more alcohol is absorbed through your stomach lining.

Another possibility is that the carbonation wears down your stomach lining causing the alcohol to reach the walls easier and absorb quicker.

No - nor does drinking beer from a straw. The faster you consume (depending on alcohol by volume) the faster you become intoxicated - throw your body weight into the equation also.

Enjoy a good champagne - Delicious!!!!!

the alcohol content in champagne makes you get drunk faster.

however, any carbonated beverage will absorb into your system faster, that's just how effervescence works.
