Can beer be an acquired taste?!

Question:

Can beer be an acquired taste?

As the topic states. I've only had Nati Light, it was tolerable, and Budwiser(I couldn't stand it). Nati was tolerable but not tasty whatsoever. I'm wondering, will I ever enjoy beer? I hear lots of people saying its an acquired taste but I have a friend who loved beer the first time he drank.

Answers:
Yes, as there are different caliber of beers (like guiness stout)

Yes it is the only beer i can tolerate is Heineken's

Some people love it the first time they try it, some hate it, some acquire a taste, and some never do. I acquired a taste for it, but still sometimes don't enjoy the taste. And other times I take that first sip and I'm like "Damn, that's a good beer!''

Like anything you eat or drink, quality is important. You have only had cheap "beer". A proper craft beer is made from barley, hops, water, and yeast, not the rice, corn, and sugar which cheap mass marketed beer is made of. Beers like bud and nati light are all essentially filler. Try something that comes (only) in bottles, something local made by someone who cares about beer more than sales figures, and you'll be on the right track. Ignore the comment about Guiness, which has never been a benchmark for high-quality beer; it's a mediocre, medium-body stout which is good, but hardly exceptional. Seek out Rogue, New Belgium, Old Dominion, Anchor, or any other LOCAL brew pub / brewery.

anything can be an aquired taste. It would probably be good if you tried some different types of beer, Go to a microbrewery that has a tasting menu or flights of beer and you may have a better idea of what types you like. There isn't an easy answer to this, there are so many types of beer, I'm sure you can find one that you like

yes it is an aquired taste. if you havnt tried miller lite you should give it a try. that is what i personally like. budwiser just plainly tastes like ****.
