And take drugs, but I wouldn't expect any one to want to answer that one.
So, why do YOU drink alcohol?
Answers:
I drink because I like the taste of certain beverages. I like pairing food with wine. I like beer on a hot summer's day. I like the social aspect of alcohol. I however don't drink just to get drunk, I think that's just a waste not to mention a childish thing to do.
I also don't take any illegal drugs. Sure I have the occasional cup of coffee and take aspirin when I have a headache but that's it.
To get drunk and to wind down after work.
I personally only have a drink if at a wedding or christmas party.....but I would have to say some ppl drink to get drunk(mostly teens/young adults) some ppl drink because they like the taste, some only socialably drink, some like to drink and party at bars......to each and their own* as for the drugs....not sure why ppl would use* That one I can't answer~*

I drink and take drugs for a couple reasons. To forget the rigors of daily life, and also to loosen up I guess...get confidence to be funny and speak my mind in social situations.
I Do not do either but People take drugs and drink to have fun usually, and by the way alcohol is a drug and it kills more people than all the others combined apart from tobacco which is the biggest killer.
I drink because it tastes good....wine or champagne enhances the flavors of ones meal....hard liquor is a social thing and not bad if it is not used to get drunk...what would a Mexican meal be without a margarita?

On a personal level, I enjoy a drink every now and then. If I drink beer, it is usually a finely crafted beer that is complex. Something that, yeah, takes the edge off but gets the mind going. Same thing with wine or a good margarita, mojito, or martini. Some drinks can be stimulating and theraputic - much the same way a good work, yoga, or meditation.
Unfotunatly, when I was younger when I drank for different reason, when looking back at it was not the most intelligent choice. I guess drinking alcohol should be enjoyed like any activity, but can be done for wrong and dangerous reasons.
I like the taste and the buzz that goes with it.
I'm extremely shy in person but if I get a little buzz going, I feel more comfortable and it's easier for me to talk to people.
i love the feeling when you are in a night club, and your head is buzzing from the music and dancing and alcohol and excitment. Alcohol makes you so much more confident and although that can sometimes be a bad thing, i have certaintly never had a bad experience from it. i love it!
I drink wine because I like the way it tastes with my meal. I don't drink to get drunk (don't like the way I feel the next day). I take drugs because without my blood pressure meds I would most assuredly have had a heart attack by now. Hey, but they say red wine is good for that now so I guess I am killing two birds with one stone.

because being sober is boring, and booze makes everything more fun.
I like a glass of wine with my dinner or a glass of champagne at a wedding, jut because it tastes good. I really watch how much I drink as I get drunk very quickly, so I stick to 2 glasses max or I start getting tiddly. If you like it and it is drunk in moderation there is nothing wrong with it.
because it makes me look cool, and I like the taste.

I remember when I was a kid and said I would never drink or take drugs, and wondered why people do. When you get into High School or College you will find out. HA J/K
I like beer it's good, I have an occasional beer and it relaxes me, and then there is the occasion were I have several beers, and we just have fun, it's not planned or for any reason, it's like askign why do you drink milk or pop.

Its taste good and I feel great. It's not a crime or against my religion God said to drink but do not get drunk.
