Are any alcoholic drinks dietary?!

Question:

Are any alcoholic drinks dietary?

i know things like beer can make you gain weight if you drink often over a long period of time.. so is there light drinks?

Answers:

Actually, Jessi, there was a diet some years ago called something like "The Martini and Whipped Cream Diet." I couldn't make that up.

The idea is that a martini -being mainly just alcohol, flavor and water, rips your head off pretty quick -so you don't need to drink as much. By the same token your appetite is suppressed, so you don't eat as much, either. The whipped cream, being mistly "air" is rish but doesn't add that much fat to your diet, really.

Or so they say.

If you were on a diet and still wanted to drink, however, you'd be well advised to stay with "clear" booze, such as gin, vodka, and maybe scotch. But not beer, which has a lot of carbs (think, 'liquid bread') and not dark wines or liquor with cream, chocolate and other such additives.

Best bet: scotch and water on the rocks.
