Help with an alcoholic drink please?!

Question:

Help with an alcoholic drink please?

Can I make a drink out of a cheap bottle of vodka and a large, cash-and-carry sized tin of mandarin oranges in syrup? I was thinking maybe emoty both in to an airtight container and leave in the fridge for as long as poss...is this right? Do I need to drain the mandarin syrup off first- and how long do I leave it for?

Thanks!

Answers:
Blend all, chuck in a yogurt and call it healthy!!!

yes you can leave it for up to 1 week

fcuk the oranges and sup the vodka

leaving it in the fridge for as long as poss wont do a thing. you can flavour vodka sure, but you cant make it stronger.

put the vodka and madarain oranges (with the juice) with ICE in a blender - good frozen summer drink! (add a splash of cranberry or hawaiian punch if you have it)

another idea would be to pour the mandarin oranges with syrup into a blender, add ice and vodka then blend. Make sure its nice and smooth. Great idea during the summer when its too hot for many other drinks.

Sounds disgusting but I guess it would be possible - i dont think it matters how long you leave it

Recipe for what I call "Martian Vodka"
1 bottle cheap vodka
1 extra large or two smaller Mars bars
tablespoon sugar
Whizz all together in liquidizer.
Store in fridge (best taken chilled) and test at frequent intervals to make sure it hasn't gone off!!!
Cheers!

Pour it all in a blender and put in a large bowl, then put 1-2 litres of orange fanta or lilt on with it and stir. If you dont add the mixer its going to taste far too strong

You are on the right track!

Leaving it in the fridge like that would make it bitter.

I would use the syrup it adds flavor.
Mix fruit vodka and ice in a blender. Yum.

mumble... mumble...
dry the mandarin
add some apples and a bit of sugar

Why ask a silly question like this one, try the damn stuff and then call yourself an expert. Write a small piece in your local paper and throw in a couple of long words to make folk sit up and read it. Extol its virtues by nattering on about it coming from spuds grown on an old muck tip, give the customer what he wants... go for it, you'll be on telly in a fortnight. (The last bit was purposely thrown in to mystify Americans who don't understand fortnight). Arethusa_Lad, ex Pat Erbum
