Has anyone used the drug Chaser to keep from getting a hangover? If so, does it work?!

Question:

Has anyone used the drug Chaser to keep from getting a hangover? If so, does it work?

Answers:

Well Chaser claims that the activated charcoal removes the compounds that cause hangovers but that would mean it absorbs the alcohol too and if that were the case you'd never get drunk. These sort of herbal, non FDA umbrella remedies are of dubious efficacy. There's no hard science or real clinical studies to back up the claims nor do they need them to make their claims.
I took Chaser before a long night of wine and beer and I felt no better in the morning. Neither did anyone else in the group.
The only hangover help I ever found was in Australia. I was called Berroca. After 3 nights of a wine trip and no hangover I read the ingredients and realized why it's not sold in the States. The active ingredient is nicotine. I don't know why it worked but it did. Now I trade my wine and BBQ for the stuff.
