Flights of Wine?!

Question:

Flights of Wine?

Am having a dinner party tonight and am looking to serve two flights of wine - one white and one red. Would appreciate some help with the order, particularly with the white. Understand you are to go from lightest to most robust.

For the White I have a Chardonnay, a Reisling and a Mondavi Fume Blanc.

For the Red I have a Pinot Noir, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Wolfblass Grey Label Shiraz.

Suggestions for order (and reasons why) are very much appreciated. Thanks.

C.

Having steaks for Dinner, but have separate wine (a big Barollo) for that. These are really just for fun.

Answers:

For white: 1st Fume (driest of the bunch much lighter than chardonnay and Riesling). 2nd Riesling (will be not as dry as fume but still lighter than chardonnay, may have some sweetness so you may need to go back to fume to cleanse your palate) 3rd Chardonnay (full bodied white with hints of oak and butter)

For red: 1st Pinot Noir (lightest red of the bunch, easy to drink, hints of nuttiness) 2nd Shiraz (medium bodied red, hints of spice and jam) 3rd Cabernet (big, bad, and bold of the rest, full bodied "robust" flavors)

Enjoy!!!
