How old do you have to be to enter a bar in Ireland?
I was wondering how old a person needs to be to enter a bar in southern Ireland and if there is a age requirement is it enough to enter with a sibling that is over the legal drinking age.

I believe it was 18 when I went there a few years back, if you were under I think you would have to be with a parent still I think you had to be 15 to go in a pub. They are less strict however...I don't know if you would have as much problem in a pub as you would the traditional dance club...they know underage Americans come there to party;) Good luck to you!

My cousing went there about 5 months ago, he said you only have to be 18 years of age....
The legal age is 18 but they dont card you and in some bars you can get in if you can see over the counter
You have to be 18. By law, only a passport, driving licence or the Garda age card is accepted as proof of age (although not always asked for in practice). Purchasing alcohol for a minor is illegal (except by parents for consumption at home).
hey i'm from ireland doesnt matter ur age but there was a law put in a while back that you have to be out of the pubs by 9 o clock if you're under 18. some places are stricter than others.
depends most pubs let minors thats under 18 in and serve them if they look over age but the city`s particularly dublin cork and galway are strick on id after say 8 or 9 pm even if with there parents but during the day is fine
Minors can stay in the pub (but not drink!) until 8pm. After that, you have to be the legal drinking age, 18. A few pubs will only serve people over the age of 19, although I have only ever heard of this in the chain of bars called "Porter House". There are also a few over-21 pubs.
18 is the legal age but realsitically most pubs will serve you if you are around 14 (maybe younger)
If you can walk and talk they will give you a drink, Don't spill it!
You can be in the bar until 9 pm whatever age you are, but after that everyone under 18 has to leave.
