Even though I'm not really a big fan of American "beer" in general, the "flagship" brew of Samuel Adams, "Boston Lager", would get a 6 out of 10 from me.

It's relatively full flavored, a little on the sweet side, and it tends to pour with a short, dense head. The body of the beer itself is clear and dark gold in appearance. It has a pleasant floral, spicy hops nose which continues into the initial taste, and finishes with a malty sweetness that tells you you're actually drinking a beer. And, finally, it leaves a bit of a bitter, clean feel in your mouth that you can actually enjoy.

Personally, though, nothing beats a good chocolate stout or a home brewed pale ale. ;)

4 Too hoppy for me...

The beer is a 7, the light is an 8

If you can get it fresh I'd say it's a 7-8. Actually really good for a lager....if it's been in a bottle a while it'll drop down to a 5.

solid 6

4 so so

2 it tastes like ****

I would say a 6.5. Sam Adams is a good beer for people that don't live around areas that make good beer. I lived in Durango, CO for six years and they make really good beer. Now I live in Las Vegas and they only sell crappy domestics or imports. Hard to find good beers.
