Can wine go bad?!


Question:

Can wine go bad?

i've had a bottle of wine that i opened almost a year ago and i have a recipe that calls for 2/3 cup of wine and i'd like to finish that one off rather than go get a new one. Can I still cook with it?


Answers:

i tried that with a bottle of wine that was open for about a month or so and it came out smelling really bad. I would just throw it out a general rule of thumb is that if it doesn't smell good its not going to taste good (generally-not always)
