Storage of opened Whiskey bottles - is freezing okay?!

Question:

Storage of opened Whiskey bottles - is freezing okay?

I have recently gotten into drinking quality whiskeys. I am still learning about the different types and am enjoying the act of trying many different varieties.

For now, I've enjoyed sipping the whiskey's cold. I used to put them on ice, but as the ice melts, the whiskey becomes too watered down.

After opening the bottle, is it bad for quality to stick it in the freezer? Taken from the freezer, it is not necessary to add ice, but if it's bad for the flavor of the whiskey, I will instead buy some bartending equipment.

Does freezing a whiskey have any effect on overall quality or enjoyment if stored for a week or two?

Answers:

Do not freeze the bottles, you will be commiting murder to the taste and the hearts of the people that distilled and nurtured it..
