What appetizer would go well with Sangiovese Italian or California wines?!

Question:

What appetizer would go well with Sangiovese Italian or California wines?

We'll be attending a winetasting (5-7 p.m, pre-dinner) and need to take an appetizer. Can you suggest a complementary appetizer?

Answers:
Bruchetta! I have a very easy recipe that I came up with on my own. You will need:

-French Baguette
-Fresh Roma Tomatoes (I use about 1-1.25 lbs. per loaf)
-Newmans Light Basalmic Vinaigrette Dressing (1/2 bottle per 1-1.25 lbs. of tomatoes)
-Basil (I don't even use fresh basil)
-Butter
-Garlic Powder

1. To make the bread for the Bruchetta, slice the baguettes.
2. Melt butter in microwave with a little bit of garlic powder and spread on the bread slices.
3. Bake on cookie sheet until golden brown. ( I usually set oven to 375 or so)
4. Cut up Roma tomatoes.
5. Mix in bowl with Newmans Basalmic Vinaigrette dressing and add some basil. (I usually refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes, I have even kept it overnight and it is fine.)
6. You can serve on a platter with the tomato mixture separate from the bread so that the bread doesn't get soggy, or you can scoop the tomato mixture on the breadh ahead of time.

Your friends will love it.

Goodluck!

A cheese tray alway's works out well.

Smoked salmon with capers, dill & light cream cheese, accompanied by Carr's water crackers. Or, a simple mild white cheese tray with almonds, pistachios & grapes. The almonds help cleanse the palate between tastings.

Scallops. Marinate and broil. If you'd like, wrap with bacon. The scallops are sweet and would go very nicely with the wine. The bacon adds a different component to the taste ans should work very, very well.

go with hard and semi-hard cheeses, prosciutto, and various olives.
