What is your favorite region in the world for Pinot Noir?!

Question:

What is your favorite region in the world for Pinot Noir?

so? If it's california, please be region specific (aka Russian River, Santa Rita Hills, etc..) and if its burgundy, give me a village

Answers:
Santa Lucia Highlands
Above the coastal fog, warm days, cooling late afternoon breeze...perfect.
The two Garys knew where to plant this difficult to get right varietal, that is for sure.

Burgundy - Vosne Romanee
There aren't, (or shouldn't be), any common wines from this commune.

Burgundy of course--Cote de Nuits because they're cheaper.

While Burgundy does make awesome Pinot Noir, I think that one has to recognize the Oregon, USA region as the best New World place for Pinot Noir.

Russian RIver area of Sonoma County USA

Russian River 2006 Pinot Noir.

Dundee, Oregon, try Ertle

Burgundy - Vosne Romanee
New Zealand - Central Otego
British Columbia - Okanogan Valley

My fav Pinot recently was Le Clos Jordan - Niagara region, Canada. Made in partnership with Burgundy giant Boisset - tastes like great Burgundy should!
