Marijuana will make you feel like you can't think straight. You'll forget things right after they happen. You'll think of something to say and then forget when you start to say it. You'll also experience an extreme form of laziness that you've never known possible. In small amounts, marijuana enhances your senses. In large amounts, Marijuana can give you strobe vision and cause you to confuse your senses with one another.

Alcohol lowers your inhibitions. It makes you less aware of what people around you think of you. Also, if you have any problems or issues going on in your life, they'll come up from where you hid them. You may be likely to share your stories with people as well.

Excessive drinking will kill your brain cells and make you unlearn things that you have worked hard to learn. Heavy drinking will also make you lazy and make it hard to work.

Excessive marijuana smoking will give you what some call "burnout," where you pretty much don't have enough energy to get up and turn the TV station. You tend not to care about anything. These effects do seem to wear away completely after you quit though with no permanent damage.

long term...alcohol.

the difference is:

alcohol is for those who cant deal with **** Marijauna is for those who want to deal with ****. lol Sooooo. smoke a joint and smile

Both have an effect on the brain, but alcohol is more immediate.
Alcohol kills braincells when you ingest too much of it.

As to marijuana, that has more long term effects, but i`m not up to speed on it :D

Marijuana is deffinately safer in my oppinion.

It makes you calm and tired.

Alchohol makes you forget and not know what is really going on and throw up.

Alchohol is bad for your liver.

and pot doesn't really have that many long term effects i dont think

pot - has more lasting effects. You may not notice differences right away, but in future years the damage shows.
