Question:

Does anyone get bad headaces from cutty sark?

i have a headache and am trying to figure out if it was the cutty

Answers:
The darker the liquor, the more risk of a hangover. Thats because darker liquors are not as pure as clear liquors - and if you drink more than a couple, the extra impurities make it harder for your body to process the alcohol out of your system. Distiller making brown liquors dont filter/distill as many of the impurities out of their alcohol as the makers of clear liquors. If you want to avoid hangovers, stick to clear liquors like vodka, gin, and white rum. And take an aspirin and Vitamin C with a big glass of water before you go to bed.

Yeah that is called a "Hangover"

It's a strong possibility.

not from Cutty Sark, but I get headaches from dark ales, after only one bottle.

I don't know why - I don't get migraines, for example.

Sit down. Bend over. Put your head between your knees.

If the pain in your head begins to pound, you are susceptible to Migraine and that's what you are getting.

There is a big difference between a simple hangover from drinking too much and an alcohol induced Migraine.

If you get migraines from Cutty, then (I hate to tell you this, cause I love Cutty) but you shouldn't drink.

Too much liquor will cause migraine and more than two drinks is too much.

If your head doesn't beat like a bass drum, then you are guilty of getting a hangover.

An Alka-Seltzer will probably take care of you if you take it before going to bed.

Take a look at drinking a dark rum the way you drink Cutty and see if that gives you the same headache.

If not then switch.

If it does, then the aging process is the culprit and you're gonna have headaches for the rest of your life.

My father once told me, "There is nothing better than good Scotch and nothing worse than bad." Cutty Sark certainly falls in the "bad scotch" category. What you have done, my friend, is prove my father's words to be true. You drank too much cheap Scotch and now your body is mad at you. Write this down: never drink cheap booze.
