Bartending Question....Please help?

I want to earn some extra money on the side by bartending but I know there are a lot of scams ans rip off schools out there. Can someone either recommend a good bartending school (in Jersey or online) and/or a good book that will teach me everything I need to know? Oh yeah, are certificates of bartending a scam or are they absolutely necessary for employment? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I would not go to a bartending school.The best lesson is just practice.I bartended for a long time.I was very intimidated before I started but...it turned out to be very easy,fun and drinks repeat themselves.If you go to any bookstore...just ask and they will help you find a bartending guide or book.They even have pocket sizes.You can always bring it with you as a reference. Then make a joke to the customer...and they understand. Any place you start,they offer some training anyway,so ask any questions you might have.When there is a will,there is a way!Good luck!
