Is there a wine that tastes good?

I'm currently reading a book on being fabulous...hahahaha. So I tried to be fabulous and buy wine instead of beer. I hadn't tried wine before, I love beer and, I love liquor coktails, but wine just tastes like some really stonge beer, which is nasty uuhhh...I poured it in my wine glass and took a big swig!!!UGGHH NASTY...any suggestions on a wine that tastes good

Answers:
First of all, you shouldn't take a big swig of wine! it's not a shot, and it's not beer. Wine is for sipping, preferably paired with food and stimulating conversation. It's also good for your heart and to help you relax. There are many varieties of grapes that make many different kinds of wines. To find the variety you like the most try going to a wine tasting event. You can try many different types of wine from different vineyards. Once you have opened your palate to the many flavors it should be easy to find the type or types of wine that you like. Going to a wine tasting is also another great way to be fabulous, and a good way to learn something new and interesting.

Arbor Mist I hate wine myself, but this has a great taste and it's really inexpensive.

NIGHT TRAIN.....or THUNDERBIRD

Go with Thunderbird, Make sure you get a giftbag so when you get home you can surprise yourself darling.

NO

Sometimes people new to wine prefer something a little sweeter - try a Reisling or a Gewurtraminer, both are white wines with a sweet taste. Fetzer is a decent brand, not too expensive.

I'm with Joe. Before I could really appreciate a fine wine, I had to adapt to the taste of wine. A sweet wine is a good starter wine. I started my wine drinking adventure on the Mosel...it was a yummy start!! Try a German Riesling...ask for a recommendation from your local spirit store.

Cold Duck.

you want to take mouthfuls of wine, not swigs, to appreciate the taste and to make the spread of the buzz more satisfying when it comes. Personally I don't like white wines...trying any kind of red wine should be your first step.

I think Charity gave a good answer - go with that. I'd add that good wine goes much better with food than either beer or cocktails so I'd suggest starting with that. Oh, it sounds snobby but some cheap wine IS NASTY - you're more likely to get what you pay for with wine, so something a wee bit more expensive is usually worth it.
