Is beer cheese non alcoholic?!
Is beer cheese non alcoholic?
like, is the alcohol content in it active? someone must know...thanks. it didn't say anything about it on the back, but I just wanted to make sure.
Answers:
After the milk has been curdled and thw whey separated, at the time of salting and pressing the pour a small amount of beer or wine over the curds and then press them into molds, some will allow the cheese to sit is brine with more beer or wine added before they start the aging process.
These cheese's are eaten young or aged for 90 days to improve the flavour, in England they use different cheeses, Wensleydale, Cheshire and others with wines, beer and even whisky, some with added flavours like sage or onions even nuts.
They are a nibbling cheese but can be used in cooking, nice with/in fondue or in a sauce for vegetables.
Are you stupid? Or WHAT?
