A&W Root Beer?!

Question:

A&W Root Beer?

What does the "A"and"W" mean?

Answers:
Roy Allen introduced root beer to people in 1919 in Lodi, California where he set up his stand during a parade honoring returning WWI vets. It was a big hit so he decided he needed a partner to help him sell this stuff. In 1922, he and Frank Wright combined their initials to name it A&W root beer.

I love this stuff myself (though i rarely drink it since it's soda).

I dunno, but it is the best root beer out there!!and the diet stuff aint bad either!!!

The A stands for Ray Allen, who bought the formula for the root beer from his pharmacist. The W stands for Frank Wright, his partner. I used to work in a stand one summer, in Scottsbluff Nebraska, but didn't trust my memory so I looked it up. the link is below. It isn't as refreshing as the real root beer (We were still mixing it by hand when I worked for them) but hopefully it will answer your question. I used to love the Mama Burgers and Papa Burgers. I miss the big barrells too. Always thought they would work well in carnivals.
