What alcohol to serve?!

Question:

What alcohol to serve?

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up. Taking her out for a nice dinner, night on the town, and for afterwards some quiet patio time for which I've ordered a raspberry cheesecake from a local bakery. What should I serve to drink with the cheesecake? Champagne? Wine? And if so, red or white?

Answers:

I think a Muscat de Rivesaltes (serving temp.10 °C ) would do fine. Have found the "Ice wines" from Washington state to be a very good accompaniment to cheesecake. They are very sweet and should stand up to the lemon if you don't use too much. Also try Vintage Port & cheesecake. Because of their richness and complexity, port wines can make a bold impression when paired well with foods. Port is most traditionally served at the end of a meal or with dessert. But it also pairs well with many appetizers and main courses.
