What beers can be kept in a growler and for how long?!

Question:

What beers can be kept in a growler and for how long?

Answers:

Breweries don't recommend that the beer sit in the growler more than 24 hours. It's generally not sanitized when filled and not intended for long term storage. The lid is pretty flimsy, so it won't hold CO2, so any fizz will be lost soon.

Growlers are best if you want to take home enough draft beer for a few people *that day*
