Will bars/nightclubs allow you in with an expired license?
I turn 21 on Friday, and my license is set to expire that day. It didn't get renewed because it's suspended for the month. Do bars/clubs need valid I.D., or can I use my old one?

There's a fifty percent chance that the guy at the door will not notice the fact that your license has expired (provided he even asks for it).The problem will be that if he does notice, there's a chance that he won't let it go - even when you ask him if he believes that your identity has changed since the expiration date of your I.D. Here's a thought: why not have a party at your, or a friend's, house? Ask everyone to bring a dish, ask the guy with the guitar to play something...and take lots of pictures - this would make a memorable 21st Birthday (a night out at the bar is...a night at the bar; honey, you'll do so many of those it'll make you numb).
i don't know about all states but in las Vegas it doesn't matter if your 21 or 121 you have to have valid i d on you

No, the bars will not let you in. If you goe to Moes corner bar they may not care.

I've tended bar in Texas, and I would serve people with expired ID's, as long as the picture looked like it was the same person.
Most people don't check the expiration date, but if they do you won't be able to buy any alcohol, or anything you need to be over 18 for at that too. It is no longer considered a valid form of ID.
it all depends on the bar or club....the ones that actually swipe your id are usually the ones that don't let you in if it is expired
Technically no, you probably won't get in with an expired license. It is required, I think in all states, that you have a valid ID.
However most id checkers are only looking at the birthdate on your id and may not even notice. It would not hurt to try. The worst that could happen is that they won't let you in.
You might get lucky and have a nice bouncer who does you a favor for your b-day... A bar more so than a club, but a club you can always try a $20 or have girls with you if thats what you really want to do. You should get your license renewed, or bring extra I.D/have a backup house party if all else fails.
i would bring your expired state id and show him your drivers license if you have one, hopefully he'll let you in with those two in hand.
The license is merely to establish your age and provide a way to identify you -as YOU- if things get outta hand. Doesn't matter if its expired or not -it still does those things.
