The best whiskey?!

Question:

The best whiskey?

I was wondering what your pick would be for whiskey, preferably a scotch. At the moment i have the 12 and 18 year old Glenfiddich, as well as so 12 year old s/m Islay scotch and some 17 year old suntory whiskey from Japan that my friend brought me. Any reccomendations for whiskeys that i can buy in stores rather than auctions or at boutiques? best answer goes to one who best describes their chosen drink!!

Answers:

My favorite single malt "whisky" atm is from Islay, a Port Ellen 18yr old '83 Scott's Selection bottling at 111 proof to be exact. Peaty, dried fruits and a creamy mouth-coating to a long smokey and peaty finish. Adding extra spring water only lessens the magnificent effect this whisky holds and quite frankly kills off some of the flavor, IMO keep it pure! An excellent example of a younger Port Ellen that are increasingly becoming harder to find.
