What do real cigars offer? As opposed to a gas station one.?!

Question:

What do real cigars offer? As opposed to a gas station one.?

Also, several people have told me (on Yahoo! Answers) that the "cheap" gas station cigars are more harmful to your health. Any truth in this?

Answers:

Forgive me because I always get somewhat annoyed when people answer questions in which they have no knowledge of the subject matter. I have been a cigar smoker for many years and a "real cigar" has a lot to offer if you know how to appreciate it.

The difference between a cheap gas station cigar and a "real cigar" is that gas station cigars are typically machine made and very inexpensive, they are also made with low grade tobacco and tend to be rather mild in flavor unless you purchase flavored cigars.

A cigar from a Fine Tobacco retailer is not always expensive. There are many fine cigars that are handmade that are less than a dollar a piece. Handmade cigars are all natural and have no preservatives, that is why they require proper storage, such as a humidor to keep them for any length of time.

Regardless of what you smoke, it will be somewhat harmful and you will be at a greater risk of mouth and throat cancer. Keeping that in mind, moderation is the key, as is the same with alcohol or any other luxury item.

If you are going to smoke a cigar, in my opinion, try a quality hand made cigar from a tobacco retailer. If you are unsure as to what to purchase, just ask one of the sales people in the tobacco shop. Tell them it is your first time buying a quality cigar and tell them what you are looking for. If there are multiple sales people, they will fall all over each other trying to help you and suggest a great cigar for you to smoke.

I hope this answers your question. Good luck and enjoy!
