If you boil vodka does it still have alcohol vol?!

Question:

If you boil vodka does it still have alcohol vol?

when you boil wine the alcohol vol goes but what happens when you boil vodka

Answers:
now why would you go and do that?? boil water and pretend it's vodkA

The alcohol in vodka is a chemical called ethanol, C2H5OH. The boiling point of this is 75 degrees Celcsius, water is att 100 C. There still will remain a little becuase it got bound up in between water molecules. It is not a lot, very minimal so it is alright. I believe .01 % remains after boiling.

Same thing. Alcohol evaporates when heated.

Any alcohol based liquid/flavoring, including vodka, loses much of it's alcoholic content at 132 degrees F.

The longer it is heated/boiled, the less alcohol is left. That is the reason you add vanilla last in stovetop cooking or wine or other liquors you cook with - the alcohol is a desirable constituent of the flavor.

Marinating and poaching in liquor is great but to "freshen" the flavor right before serving, a dash of the choice of liquor brings up the flavor. You don't need much, just a drizzle.

I have to ask why on earth you would want to boil vodka ?? Stick to making jus with boiled down wine ...........
