How much yeast should be used to produce 2 gallons of beer?!

Question:

How much yeast should be used to produce 2 gallons of beer?

I am making a Pumpkin Porter and I'm not sure if the yeast I pitched is working. I have the beer lagering in a controlled 72 degrees room and if I dont see any signs of the yeast working in the next day (which would make 3 days) then I'm thinking about adding more yeast and it will prolly be a liquid yeast.
How much should I put in? Thanks

Answers:

The liquid yeasts come in pouches enough to ferment 5 gallons, usually. It really isn't possible to "over" pitch a beer since the yeast must multiply millions of times to reach the point where the population begins active fermentation. Just add the liquid yeast (be sure to follow directions on the pouch) and good luck.

My guess too is that you put in your first yeast when the wort was too hot and killed them.
