What is the strongest alcoholic beverage in the world?!

Question:

What is the strongest alcoholic beverage in the world?

explain why

Answers:
If you are looking to buy it in a store in the US, then Everclear would be the highest proof (strongest alcohol) at about 190 proof (or 95% acohol).

If you are just looking for the strongest possible, some homemade moonshines can be stronger than everclear and may even be 200 proof (100% alcohol).

true Absinthe, although strong, is banned in the US because of the wormwood, not because of the alcohol content. Fake absinthe (made from the same stuff real absinthe is, just not the hallucinogenic wormwood) which is legal in the US tops out at about 120 proof.

Also the PanGalactic Gargleblaster is a fictional drink from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Bartender and avid drinker.

moon shine, made right its about 190 proof.

I think it would be everclear.. the home made kind....

A liquor called absinthe. I am not sure if I am spelling it right but I have heard this is the strongest.

PanGalactic Gargleblaster

Everclear is 151 proof.

i believe its absinthe. im pretty sure its banned in the U.S. because of its high alcohol content

Absinthe is 168 proof. It will take your head off. And it tastes bad besides, so who needs it?
After that, it's Bacardi 151 Rum at 151 proof.

100% pure alcohol, not to hard to find that most all alcoholic beverages contain it:)

I know devil springs make a 180 proof vodka that
i used to drink. I can't explain why sorry.

Everclear is actually 190 proof and is illegal in most states. Moonshine would also qualify but obviously there is no quality control.

moonshine or everclear...

maybe Newfoundland Screech which is a kind of rum, I think...

Try 'zivania' produced in Cyprus :) The original type, not the new touristic version which is softened.

Everclear, White Lightning, whatever name it happens to go by !

"100% alcohol=200 proof" ! Wow ! You can run engines on it !

In the United States, Everclear is a brand of grain alcohol (ethanol), available at concentrations of 95% alcohol (190 proof) and 75.5% (151 proof).[1] By contrast, hard liquors such as rum and vodka generally contain 40% alcohol (80 proof). Everclear is manufactured by Luxco (formerly the David Sherman Corporation).[2]

It is illegal to purchase the 190 proof version in certain states in the US, including California, Ohio, Minnesota,[3] and Michigan. Due to Everclear's lack of sugar and impurities (congeners), it may make drinkers less vulnerable to hangovers. However, the lack of a strong flavor tends to promote overconsumption. Everclear is usually mixed into an alcoholic beverage, and is highly flammable

try these for a few

MOONSHINE

Don't drink it please

The strongest alcoholic beverage int the world is " MORE". Ask for it the next time you are in a bar right after your favorite first whistle wetter. I guarantee "More" will get you drunker than you have ever been. WHY? Because you'll drink untill you run out of money, time or consciousness - whichever comes first.
