Would it be safe to wear a jacket with an English cross on it into an Irish pub?
I don't know the politics between Irish and English pubs, wouldn't want a roomful of drunk Irishmen riverdancing on my head

sorry if I came off a bit rude, it's just I have this jacket from world cup 06 I wear a lot and I just moved into a new neighborhood with an Irish pub down the block. I don't mean to sound ignorant, my old boss used to bring me to English pubs a lot and I never learned the difference between an English pub and an Irish one. I'm asking whether it's okay to wear one in there because I like that track jacket, I'm wearing it right now, the weathers good for it, and I'm hankering for some blood pudding.

Oh, and my first impression of Irishmen is not that they're drunks... I apologize for that... I just assumed that a pub would have at least a few. I know during world cup time I would go to an English pub in Seattle where everybody starts drinking at 6 in the morning, I was right there along with them downing boddingtons as the sun came up.

If in doubt, dont. But, just FYI it depends on the loyalty of the pub.
If the pub sports a lot of orange (like an order or orange flag), then u shud be ok. Thats a loyalist pub (to the UK).
If the pub sports the traditional Irish flag colors (and a lot of green), you're probably going to wind up in the dumpster with your pants around your head.
Also depends on where you are. Most American and expatriate pubs are Irish republican loyal, meaning don't wear the cross. Northern Ireland pubs are 50/50. Irish republic pubs- u know the drill.
