Is spilling a drink Good luck?

Well I actually spilled gatorade in my backpack today and my mom just came home and spilled sprite. And i said "We both had bad luck cause we both spilled somthing."
And then she said "spilling somthing is good luck."

How is it good luck.Or is it actually bad luck
