My mother drinks 2 bottles of wine a day. Is she an alcohlic?

1/ what time of the day does she drink?
a) only in the evening before bed? OR
b) throughout the whole day from morning till evening

2/ If she is still working, does she drink during work?
a) No
b) Yes

3/ Does she get drunk, say, talking nonsense, no response, etc.,?
a) no
b) yes

4/ Does she get addicted, say can she stop drinking for one day without losing her mind?
a) no
b) yes

5/ Does she cause any problem to the family, say financially and mentally?
a) no
b) yes

If the answers are all and mostly b) , the problem is serious and the whole family has to help her.
If the answers are all a), congratulations, she may not be a drunkard but watch out her health. Drinking too much is not good for her liver, especially if she is not very young, say over 50, does not exercise much, or is overweight. You need to talk to her on this.
