Anyone please help??!

Question:

Anyone please help??

My husband is a social drinker. He drinks 3 or 4 times a month. My question is he doesn't remember a part of his night Saturday night. He remembers going to his friends house that lives an hour away, falling asleep on the couch, driving in his car in the middle of the night.....then nothing after that only the fact that he woke up on his friends couch the next morning. Was he dreaming or was it an affect from the alcohol. He said he didnt drink more than he usually does that night, so neither of us really understand what happened. About 3 months ago, he was downtown, and he still wasnt home by 3, I went outside to have a cigarette and he was sleeping in his car. He walked down to the club. So we don't understand how he ended up in his car and he doesnt remember. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answers:
Blackouts are often caused by excessive alcohol consumption. It doesn't matter how many times a month he drinks it's the amount he consumes.

He may want to get checked just in case there is a medical cause as well.

Hmmmmm.... sounds a little fishy to me. Maybe he remembers more than he is letting on to you.

Alisha be nice, lol......

You should visit the Doctor's for sure.......you don't have to drink all the time to be an alcoholic. Blackouts like that are a sign of something not right.....maybe even something not related to drinking.....don't delay...

He needs to check into alcoholics anonymous, if he's drinking and driving he's going to kill someone. You should seriously consider going with him to his outings and driving him home until he checks into rehab!

Is he on meds for depression? when i used to take prozac i would have alcohol related "blackouts" from considerably less than i would normally have to drink to get that effect. Also, it's a common ploy to say you do not remember doing something stupid after drinking, god knows i use it all the time.

your husband is having blackouts. he should stop drinking before he hurts himself or someone else .

Is he on any medications? Certain medications don't mix well with alcohol and will cause blackouts.

Nonetheless, he should know when to say when.

Get thee to a doctor real fast, he may have some underlying problem that even he knows nothing about.
