What is the difference between white spirits and brown spirits?!

Question:

What is the difference between white spirits and brown spirits?

Answers:

Barrel aging. Brown spirits like whiskey and scotch are aged in oak barrels that have been charred on the inside over an open fire before they are closed up. The charred interior colors the spirit brown. Hence the name of homemade, cheap whiskey that never was aged "white lightning."
