How do you liquor up a watermelon?!

Question:

How do you liquor up a watermelon?

I'd rather have personal experiences, rather than internet instructions. I haven't been successful and I'd like a technique that works.

Answers:

I let mine soak for a day. First I roll up a towel and form it into a ring on a tray. Lay the watermelon down to rest on the towel so it won't roll over. Cut a hole in the top, not to big. Remove the cut out piece of rind and poke into the flesh of the watermelon with the handle of a wooden spoon. Poke in all directions through the hole into the flesh. When you've gone all the way around, pour the liqueur into the melon until it is full. Put the cut out piece of rind back in place and chill the melon. Periodically check to see if the liqueur has soaked in and pour in more. When serving remove the rind plug and pour out any liquid to drink. Then start to cut out chunks of watermelon starting at the hole.
