What is the best red wine?!

Question:

What is the best red wine?

Answers:
Per Robert Mondavi, the best wine is the one YOU like.... I strongly suggest you try different wines to determine which best fits your tastes.

There are several possible choices for best red wine. Single varietals include: Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Syrah, etc. The blends that are usually thought of as great include the Bordeaux blends ( 3 to all 5 of the following: Cab sauv, Merlot, Petite verdot, Malbec, and Cab franc), Rhone blends (usually Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre), Italian Amarones (blends of the 3 Valpolicella grapes), and Italian Super Tuscans (Sangiovese and Merlot and Cab Sauv or others)

Some great wines include cabernets from Ridge, Peju Province, Stag's Leap, Penfolds, Chateau Montelena, Beringer, Mondavi, Opus One et. al. Blends like Cos d'Estournel, Chateau Margaux, Clos de la tour, and other Bordeauxes; Cain Five and Norman Crescendo from California. GSM from Rosemont, Pinot Noir from most anywhere in Oregon or Burgundy. Amarones... well take your pick.. never had a bad one.

Try to take in a few wine tastings to learn your preferences and enjoy!

Harlan cab

It is the "Saint Emilion".
It is the best red wine I've ever drink.

I usually prefer Pinot Noir and Chianti.

1997 cakebread Cabernet or anything red

Choose any red wine you like the best.

Silver Oak Cabernet 1998, about $60.00 a bottle-GREAT-or anything from the Tenuta Vineyards- (Italy) a little higher priced, and since they are considered cult wines, they can be extremely hard to get- but well worth every penny!

Cabernets from Napa are some of the best red wines anywhere. They can be expensive. One of my favorites is Silver Oak and it goes for $100 a bottle. A less expensive Napa Cab would be Hawks Crest Stags Leap Cab which goes for around $15.
