Dispute on jello shot recipe?!

Question:

Dispute on jello shot recipe?

Ok-So I am making Jello Shots for my honey's 30th b-day party this weekend-so reminiscent of college days! (Yes, we are also having a keg or two) Anyway, I have never made them myself, only watched. I have searched for recipes, & I know to substitute the alcohol (in this case, cheap Vodka) for the cold water. However, some recipes say don't sub all the cold water w/ vodka or they won't set up, & some say you can. I need a definite answer from an experienced Jello Shot maker! I am going to probably use Watermelon jello (if it matters) & I would like to use the Big Box of jello. Please let me know your opinion, as I am going to go with the majority on this one! Thanks All!
Peace

Answers:

First of all, freeze whatever kind of liquor you plan on using. It will help the shots set up quicker. Also, it's easiest tomake them in a bowl or large Pyrex cup with a spout, so it's easier to pour them into the shot cups. When I make mine, I just replace the cold water with the liquor and make according to the package. I've never had a problem with them setting u[p ok. Also, sometimes all vodka can end up tasting strong. I make mine with 1/2 vodka and 1/2 schnapps or pucker.
