Hosting a party. Drink staples?!

Question:

Hosting a party. Drink staples?

I am hosting a party and am wondering what drink staples I should have. I know I am going to supply the keg but am also wondering what liquors to supply. Rum, whiskey, vodka, gin, etc. What are the most requested? Trying to buy the least amount as possible to save some money!

I own a bar, and I find this time of year UV blue and lemonade is VERY popular, and tasty, but UV just came out with a new flavor! It's, I believe, Strawberry Lemonade! I JUST sampled it today, and, OMG!! It's soo good! If you mix it with cranberry juice, a touch of sour mix (Squirt) and top it off with a dash of triple Sec, you have got one good drink!! And it's totally new, so you would be introducing your party to a new drink!! Vodka and Rum are the top liquors in my area, and Bombs are huge, so you may want RedBull. The cheaper you pay for the liquor, the cheaper the quality. It will effect your "buzz" and can tired you out! If you know someone with a Sams Club Card, shop with them their! It's will save you a ton! (Redbull is cheaper their then anywhere else too! )
Good luck with your PARTY!!

rum and coke is a big drink always.

You should at least have some rum, vodka and maybe something else..
most girls aren't too excited about beer, but we can have rum and cokes, vodka and juice and maybe some smirnoff ice or the flavored stuff..

hope you'll have a good party!!! :)

Well, besides alcohol? You'll need stuff to make mixed drinks with. I like to serve just a few choices. What you need to do is pick 4 or 5 drinks, maybe less if you don't want to spend too much, and practice making them. You need to know exactly how to make them, modify them, serve them properly. Margaritas are really simple, of course the basic rum & coke, but what do you like? You can get all of your recipes from the net or books from Barnes & Noble.

My point is, why have so many liquors, you're not a bar and if you can't serve them properly, at least serve the ones you know and practice, very well. People will appreciate your efforts more.

Keep the satisfaction with Vodka, Tequila and Beer.

Mix up some kind of nice punch. Those are always popular and if there's soda or juice etc in it you can buy cheap brands and no one will know.

My guess is, if a keg is involved ur probably not dealing with ppl old enough to be sophisticated liquor connoisseurs. So, to make it cheap, go for the most neutral grain spirits- vodka, gin. These mix well and mask with almost any juice. For soda drinkers, get some cheap but clear rum. Rum is very good with other sugary beverages.

Well everyone has pretty much covered the hard stuff. I never have a party with some white and red wine. Soda in as you may have someone who does not drink.

Rum, vodka and whiskey would be the most popular, but you should at least have rum and vodka on hand. Also mix, like coke and 7-up. Although rum and coke is a popular drink, not everyone likes it (like me!), and if they also don't like beer and would rather have a sweeter drink, vodka and 7-up is a good way to go. If you know some of the people coming, you could do a bit of a survey to find out what's popular. If you're trying to keep it cheap though, you'll also have to keep it as simple as possible. Good luck with the party!

1.Red Label Whiskey(most popular over 25's)
2Tanqueray Gin
3. Stolichnaya Vodka(most popular, always finishes first)
4. Any Tequila
5. Any Rum(2nd popular under 25's)
6.Glenlivet's
7.Chivas Regal
8.White ,Red,Rose Wines, and Beer
9.Brandy ,Liqueur (optional)

Being summer time I would go with the beer for the guys. For the ladies I would say margaritas, rum & coke (diet for the low carb freaks) and vodka & 7. If you want to get a little creative try making mojitos. You can get the recipe from Bacardi online or any local bartender.
