yeah 18 usually, some pubs and clubs have an over 20's over 21's policy and in most shops etc your expected to produce Identification if you look younger than 21, though it is legal to buy it at 18.
You can actually have a pint in a restaurant younger than 18, providing you have a meal (obviously) and your "guardians" are with you. Don't know how young you can be, but i expect it's reasonable 15 or somthing.
But that's just drinking legaly. Plenty of underage kids getting drunk in the pubs, clubs and street corners of 'Great' Britain...
