Explain what a "Cosmo" martini is please?!

Question:

Explain what a "Cosmo" martini is please?

Answers:
its a girls martini...

It is made with vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice and vermouth. Very tasty and pretty in the glass.

The "Cosmo" (Cosmopolitan) is promoted as a sophisticated martini for ladies but in fact is a ghastly concoction made up of the following:

1 1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz triple sec
3/4 oz cranberry juice
1 oz fresh lime juice

Throw that in a shaker with some ice, shake it up until icy cold, then strain into a cocktail (martini) glass.

Looks very pretty. Tastes awful.

It's a Cosmopolitan - darned good too

1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
1 oz vodka
juice of 1/2 limes
1 splash cranberry juice

Pour all ingredients in mixing glass half filled with ice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass.

three words 'a Chics drink'

The standard 'Cosmo' is actually much closer to a Margherita than a Martini, although usually served in a martini glass.

Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and a squeeze of fresh lime.

Having said that, there is probably some misguided individual selling a Cosmo-tini somewhere trying to be original but really just messing with a classic that's not that good in the first place.

a cosmo is just like a reg vodka martini except using vermouth you use triple sec and add lime juice and a splash of cranberry juice

Vodka, triple sec, cranberry with the lightest splash lime juice
