IF Wine has vinegar tones to it, does that mean its not a good bottle?!

Question:

IF Wine has vinegar tones to it, does that mean its not a good bottle?

Had a bottle of Bella Serra last night and it tasted a bit like vinegar! I seem to recall that means its gone bad? Or was a bad batch.Thanks.

Answers:

No wine should taste like vinegar, if you mean really mean vinegar rather than just to sharp for you.

It is not a sign it is corked, more likely to be 'volatile acidity' caused by poor hygiene at the winery, but hard to tell for certain without tasting me it. Stick the cork back in and return to the store.
